Description

The Whitby Pirate Festival is a free, family-friendly weekend event usually held in late August (2025 dates: Aug 29–31) at Whitby Harbour and surrounding venues to raise funds for the RNLI. The festival features pirate battles on the Endeavour ship, live shanty music, costume contests, and activities for all ages. 

Key Details for 2026:

  • Location: Primarily around Whitby Harbour, The Endeavour, and the Royal Hotel.
  • Activities: Sword fighting, reenactments, children’s games, and a pirate parade.
  • Atmosphere: A lively, fun event where many attendees dress in full pirate attire.
  • Fundraising: Proceeds typically go to the local RNLI lifeboats

The majority of trips return from destination between 16:30 and 17:30. The driver will inform you of the exact time on the day, dependant on outward travel times. Whilst we do not guarantee a W/C on board most of our excursion fleet do have toilet facilities. For your comfort we allocate seating at time of booking, however reserve the right to alter or amend your seat allocation for utilisation purposes.
